Testing World’s Smallest (and Cheapest!) Laptops

March 11th, 2010 by admin

They’re tiny (enough for a handbag), fast (Linux) and resilient (all-solid-state memory and storage). And unlike the beauty from Cupertino, their price tag matches their stature. Check out our hands-on video with the Everex Cloudbook and the Asus eeepc.

Actually, it’s pronounced “Lee-noox”, and written “Linux”. The guy in the video sounds like he said “Lie nex” really fast instead.

0:27 – I chuckled at the way how he pronounces the word “Linux”. Lynyx? A new operating system? WOW! I’m going to go get it now!

    *checks the stores*
*4 hours later comes home disappointed that there is no such thing as Lynyx*

Careful, these are NOT laptops and lack the processing power of the bigger ones! Also, depending on the Linux Distro, you can use WINE…

Great for using if you just want to check facebook or whatever but if so, get an iPhone or a Blackberry :S
